What is a De-Shed?
What is a De-Shed?
Deshedding is a two-step process designed to address continuous or seasonal pet shedding, preventing hair from taking over your home. It also offers health benefits, particularly for dogs, by reducing their hot, dense undercoat, aiding in keeping them cooler during hot summers. Essential for double-coated breeds, here's how it works: Bathing: The first step involves a bath using a specially-formulated shampoo and conditioner. This loosens the hair that's ready to shed naturally. Combing: After thorough drying, a specialized comb with gentle teeth is used to remove loose hair without cutting or damaging the coat. The result is a lustrous, healthy coat. Post-Treatment: Expect a few loose hairs to continue falling out over the next 48 hours. Following this period, shedding will be significantly reduced, if not entirely eliminated. To maintain optimal coat health and prevent excessive shedding, we recommend a monthly deshedding treatment. Your pet's comfort and well-being are our priority.
How long does a groom take?
How long does a groom take?
The duration of a dog grooming session can vary widely depending on several factors, including the dog's size, breed, coat condition, the specific grooming services requested, and the dog's temperament. Here's a rough estimate: Small Dogs: Small dog breeds with shorter coats may take around 1 to 2 hours for a basic grooming session, which includes bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning. Medium Dogs: Medium-sized dogs usually require 2 to 3 hours for a standard grooming appointment. Large Dogs: Larger breeds may take 3 to 4 hours or more, especially if they have a thick or long coat. Grooming Services: If you request additional services such as de-shedding, haircuts, or styling, it can add extra time to the grooming session. Dog's Behavior: The dog's temperament and behavior can also affect the duration. An anxious or uncooperative dog may take longer to groom. We will always provide an estimated completion time upon the commencement of the dog groom allowing you to plan accordingly.
